Our team leader, Chris, and her husband, Mark, flew their floatplane from Kenmore, WA to Ketchikan, AK tracing the untamed route we’ll conquer in the 2026 R2AK Race to Alaska. Mark is also gearing up to tackle the race solo. On the return, they scouted thrilling alternate routes, each one brimming with adventure. The wild, endless waters left them awestruck – what an unforgettable journey! Loaded with invaluable lessons, they stood boldly at Ketchikan’s finish-line dock, already envisioning our 2026 triumph. They also carved out time to bask in the tranquil beauty of Big goat Lake near Ketchikan, a serene gem in their journey. Exploring Ketchikan itself was a blast – connecting with incredible locals who lit up their trip! We’re counting down the days to sail into Ketchikan post-R2AK in 2026!
